STORY

Although Rent-A-Mum has records going back to 1970, the agency was established even earlier than this. It was originally set up in the early sixties by the expatriate owners of a maternity wear shop situated on historic Hollywood Road in Mid-levels. Their clientele would often ask about qualified English speaking professionals to care for their new babies.

Hence the owners recognised a need for qualified English speaking nannies and babysitters to work within the overseas communities in Hong Kong.

I've used Rent-a-Mum on multiple occasions as I needed to find somebody to take care of my 2 girls (ages 2 and 5) while I was working and when their usual nanny was away. We have been using the babysitting service provided by Shirley and her team at Rent-a-Mum since we arrived in Hong Kong from UK in the summer of 2016. At that point, my two sons were aged 11yrs and 9yrs. Being unsure whether or not we wished to employ a full-time helper, we still needed someone to be with the boys when we were out. For long-term positions, we suggest an informal meeting with each candidate to decide upon who best fits into your family dynamic before following-up with a second meeting in the family home with the rest of the family present.

Start Work

We will assist with all the necessary contracts and/or visa paperwork necessary for the assignment to begin, when applicable.
